    KYT members and friends are invited to a fireside discussion with our state legislators, followed by questions and answer. This annual event will be held in person and refreshments will be served.

    An Evening with the Town Meeting Review Committee

    All South Hadley residents are invited to come and learn more about why this committee was formed and its work to date. This event will be held in person at the main library and the public can also view the program live on local Channel 15 or online at https://shctv15.com/watch-live.

    Annual Town Election and Fire/Water Districts 1 and 2 Candidates Night

    This free community event is open to members, friends, and the public. Our forum for candidates in the March 5, 2024 annual Town Election and the Fire/Water Districts 1 and 2 will be held in person at the main library and the public can also view the program live on local Channel 15 or online at https://shctv15.com/watch-live. Candidates are asked to provide information, which is posted on our website under Election Information / Meet the Candidates as it is available. Please note that the 2024 Town Election will be a month earlier than usual so it can be held on the same date as the Massachusetts Presidential Primary.     Local Candidates Meet+Sign Event

    All South Hadley residents are invited to come and meet prospective candidates for Town Offices in the March 5, 2024 Town Election and help facilitate our local election by signing some nomination papers. Enjoy coffee/tea and nibbles, learn more about those who wish to serve our community, and be part of the process of putting a slate of local candidates on the ballot in for our 2024 election.
  • November 28, 2023 (6:30pm, Tuesday)
    History and Finance of the South Hadley Fire Districts
    South Hadley Public Library Community Room
    2 Canal Street, South Hadley

    South Hadley Associate Assessor Melissa Couture Rimbold and Kevin Taugher, Chair of the Board of Assessors, will provide an overview of why, when, and how South Hadley Fire Districts 1 and 2 were formed and how they are financed by property taxes and water rates. Kevin Taugher will give a history of their formation and Melissa Couture Rimbold will discuss how they are financed. The meeting, which is free and open to the public, will not address or entertain questions regarding current operations, budgets, personnel, or boards.

    Find out what there is to do in South Hadley! Enjoy Apple Crisp, pumpkin painting, and visit table displays by local organizations including South Hadley Pickleball, Community Garden, Community Band, Historic Society, Historical Commission, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Farmer’s Market, Falls Neighborhood Association, Showcase South Hadley Music and Arts. Also represented will be Board & Brush, DCR-Notch Visitor Center and Mt. Holyoke Skinner House, and information about Fitness, Yoga, Nutrition, Line Dancing, and Stand-Up Paddleboarding.

    KYT Annual End of the Year Gathering
    Guest Speaker: Mental health specialist Karen Walsh Pio
    South Hadley Public Library, 2 Canal Street, South Hadley

    Plan to join members and friends for an in-person get-together in the Community Room at the main library. The gathering will begin with socializing and refreshments (if you can, please bring a finger appetizer or dessert). The agenda will include a talk on ‘Pandemic Side Effects,’ presentation of the Anne Battersby Scholarship, and a brief business meeting. Plan to come and catch up with other members and friends!

*As a result of redistricting following the 2020 census South Hadley will move with this election cycle from the Hampshire, Franklin, and Worcester District represented by State Sen. Jo Comerford to the Hampden Hampshire, and Worcester District currently represented by state Sen. Eric Lesser, who is running for Lt. Governor and will be stepping down.
