The Historic District Study Committee is delighted to invite you to a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating two major milestones for South Hadley:

The dedication of the Old Firehouse Museum Local Historic District: South Hadley’s first Local Historic District.
- The unveiling of our new three‑panel historic kiosk, highlighting the Local Historic District, the Canal, and Canal Village.
The event will take place in the new district and the public is invited:

4 North Main Street, South Hadley
The ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 2-3PM. Light refreshments, entertainment, and tours of the museum and district will follow.
The establishment of the Local Historic District has been a multi‑year effort supported by the Town of South Hadley and the Massachusetts Historical Commission. The new historical kiosk is an important addition to South Hadley Falls and supports the long‑term community goal of strengthening the identity of the Falls as a historic village – a place where interpretive signage, preserved architecture, and walkable connections help residents and visitors experience the rich heritage of the area.
We are grateful to the South Hadley Historical Society and the members of the former Canal Committee for their generous support of the kiosk project. We also extend our thanks to the South Hadley DPW who will be helping with the installation. We are excited to share the finished work with the community and with all who helped bring it to life.
